LITE CYLINDER BRAND PRODUCT RECALL NOTICE

Tank Page ImageHAWAI'IGAS is recalling all Lite Cylinder brand cylinders as mandated by the Pipeline and Hazardous Material Administration. All Lite Cylinders are branded on the top handle near the nozzle.

The recall affects all customers who purchased a PropaneXchange cylinder on or before May 28.

Customers affected by the recall should immediately exchange their tank for a new, full tank at any PropaneXchange location.

Only HAWAIʽIGAS PropaneXchange customers on Oahu are affected by this recall. For questions please call HAWAIʽIGAS at (808) 535-5933.

Why are the cylinders being recalled?

The cylinders are being recalled by the U.S. Department of Transportation because it has been found that they may constitute a safety hazard.

Have there been any incidents in Hawaii?

No. There have been no safety issues related to Lite Cylinder brand cylinders in Hawaii. 

Who is affected by this recall?

Only HAWAIʽIGAS  PropaneXchange customers on Oahu are affected by this recall.

What should the customer do?

Please return the cylinder to any one of the locations listed above immediately. Transport cylinder in upright well-ventilated area with valve fully closed.

Are these cylinders safe to transport?

If your cylinder shows any visible signs of leaks or other irregularities or you are uncomfortable transporting the cylinder yourself please contact HAWAIʽIGAS  at (808) 535-5933.

Do I get anything for the exchange?

Customers who purchased the unique green colored cylinders on or before May 28, 2013 will receive a new cylinder filled with propane at no charge and a choice of a coupon for 50% off their next cylinder exchange or a coupon for 50% off their purchase of an additional cylinder. Or, customers may simply return their cylinder for a full refund.
