A shut-off valve shall be installed upstream of an automatic valve. An automatic gas valve controlled from a remote point, such as a thermostat, shall supply gas to only one appliance. All electric automatic valves shall conform to manufacturers ratings, and be installed according to the following provisions:

A. The automatic valve will be designed to shut off the gas supply in case of power supply failure.
B. The automatic gas valve shall be of a size to allow the required amount of low-pressure gas to the appliance.
C. Industrial Service: The automatic gas valve shall be sized for commercial and industrial service and be compatible with the type of equipment and available gas pressure. It is recommended that Mountain Fuel Supply Company be consulted for each specific case.
