Meter - Sizing of the Gas Company Meters

Sizing of company owned gas meters and gas regulators shall be completed by The Gas Company personnel. Consult The Gas Company Engineering Department at 594-5591 for assistance. The following tables are provided for reference purposes only. The term “BM” denotes “Before Meter” and designates the type of regulator to be installed before the gas meter. The term “AM” denotes “After Meter” and designates the type of regulator to be installed after the meter. The metering pressure is the pressure of the gas through the meter. The delivery pressure is the pressure of gas delivered to the customer. Typical delivery pressures are 9” water-column (w.c.) for Synthetic Natural Gas (SNG) and 11” w.c. for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG). Customers may also request a medium delivery pressure set at 2 pounds per square inch gauge (psig) if desired for their application. Large Commercial customers whose operations require higher delivery pressure may be supplied in accordance with The Gas Company rules if such pressure is available.
