Meter - Service Connections

The gas meter is usually located as near as practical to thepoint where the gas service pipe enters the customer’s property and should be near the side of the building from which the customer is to be served. The gas meter should be accessible at all times for inspection, repairs, reading, and testing. (NFPA 54 5.7.21).

Installation of gas service lines or main extensions on and off the customer’s property may be subject to charges and is governed by Rule13 of the Public Utilities Commission (PUC). Consult The Gas Company for more information on costs to install gas service lines or main extensions.
