Kahala Gas Pipeline Upgrades
Beginning September 2026, Hawai‘i Gas will replace gas utility pipelines along Hunakai Street and Kahala Avenue, upgrading existing pipeline infrastructure and improving capacity for an increased energy load. For any questions or concerns, please email feedback@hawaiigas.com.
Pipeline upgrade work will take place from September through December 2026, Monday – Friday from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
The project will include road work at the following locations:
• Hunakai Street and Kolohala Street
• Hunakai Street and Aukai Avenue
• Kahala Avenue and Hunakai Street
• Kahala Avenue and Koloa Street
• Kahala Avenue and Pueo Street
• Kahala Avenue and Kealaoulu Street
