UN Global Compact

Hawaiʻi Gas is the only company from Hawaiʻi participating in the United Nations Global Compact Initiative, a voluntary leadership platform created for the adoption of sustainable and socially responsible business practices. Launched in 2000, the UN Global Compact is the largest corporate sustainability initiative in the world with a network of over 95,000 companies and 3,000 non-business participants committed to building a sustainable future.

RNG Coalition

Hawaiʻi Gas is a leadership member of the Coalition for Renewable Natural Gas (RNG Coalition). This group serves as the public policy advocate and education platform for the Renewable Natural Gas industry in North America. The RNG Coalition advocates for sustainable development, deployment and utilization of renewable natural gas so that present and future generations will have access to domestic, renewable, clean fuel and energy.

Sustainability Business Forum (SBF)

The SBF is a public-private partnership committed to advancing economic, social and environmental goals, and aims to connect generations of indigenous knowledge and systems-thinking with modern science, technology, and policy to support scalable solutions that can be applied globally. Hawaiʻi Gas is proud to be a participating member and supporter of the Nature Conservancy Carbon Offset Initiative:

HEC Climate Coalition Pledge

As leaders of Hawai‘i’s largest organizations and institutions, the members of the Hawai‘i Executive Collaborative (HEC) recognize the impact of climate change on our island home. As a signatory to the HEC Climate Coalition Pledge, Hawai‘i Gas is committed to take actions to reduce emissions and increase our resiliency, and to leverage our collective capacities to support an equitable transition to a climate resilient economy, society, and environment for all Hawai‘i’s people.
