Employee Engagement
In July 2024, Hawaiʻi Gas partnered with the Hawaiʻi Employers Council to launch our annual Employee Engagement Survey—a key initiative in understanding and enhancing the employee experience across our organization. We were proud to achieve a 70% favorable score, aligning with benchmarks across the Islands and underscoring the strength of our culture.
Survey results highlighted several areas of excellence: a strong and visible safety culture, positive working relationships between employees and their frontline supervisors, a shared sense of pride in being part of Hawaiʻi Gas, and a collective willingness to go above and beyond to ensure our company’s success. These outcomes reflect the dedication and spirit of our team and reinforce the values we aim to uphold every day.
As with all engagement efforts, the survey also identified valuable opportunities for growth—specifically in the areas of change management and communication. In response, we implemented digital message boards across all major sites to improve the timeliness and consistency of internal communications. We have also reimagined our Town Hall meetings to be more dynamic and engaging, refining both content and delivery to better connect with employees.
