If the meter or riser is located where damage is likely, protection will be required. Physical protection shall be provided for any gas meter set located within 5 feet of:
A single family driveway / parking area (includes garage area)
A commercial refuse container location
A roadway / street / alley with curb
A loading dock / freight handling area
A roadway or paved area without curb
Pipe Barricades
Traffic Barricades
Locate meter at such height that it is free from the hazards of traffic
