Listed decorative appliances shall be installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendation and may be vented with Type “B” vent.
Manufactured metal fireplaces that are designed for solid burning fuels shall be vented with a Type “A” vent connector, vertical vent, and chimney.
If a gas log is installed in a fireplace equipped with a damper, the damper shall be permanently blocked open to a sufficient amount to prevent spillage of combustion products into the room.
Two or more fireplaces shall not be vented into a common vertical vent or chimney.
